GALLI-GALLO, a company with over 10 years of experience in raising and slaughtering chickens, inaugurated in August 10 2010 the most modern turkey slaughterhouse in Europe, with a capacity of 48,000 tonnes per year. The over 22 million EUR investment in turkey farms, logistics, distribution and slaughterhouse is carried out at the latest standards and is unique in Romania.
Newly built slaughterhouse has an area of about 6,000 square meters in a single level building and is made with construction materials approved by the EU for food industry.
Our goal is to introduce to romanian market, natural tasty turkey meat, inspired by traditional recipes at certified quality standards HACCP and ISO 9001/22000. Brand "Penes Curcanul'' guarantees a natural, with no artificial food additives (no E number).
Farms growing turkeys
Processed turkey meat comes from chicks raised in our own farms located in Codlea and Sighisoara. The turkeys are raised with grain, forage and vegetable oils, which provides a high quality meat.
Capacity reaches 1.2 million per year which means approx. 17,000 tons of meat in a year. The company has partnerships with other farms in the county for approx. 4000 tons of meat a year, farms with the same feeding and veterinary conditions, which are monitored by authorized personnel from our company.
The slaughterhouse is equipped with the latest technology. The slaughterhouse is designed to have a capacity of 1,000 heads of males and 1500 females per hour. Mature female turkey are slaughtered at 10 kg and male turkey are slaughtered when they have between 18-22 kg.
The turkey slaughter line is equipped with stunning gas (CO2), first in Central and Eastern, which ensures on the one hand the welfare of the birds before slaughter and on the other hand has some special advantages in terms of quality and appearance of the meat obtained. Thus, stun gas (CO2) makes sure that the bird is not stressed at all, leading to a normal pH of meat, obtaining a presentable and tender meat.
The investment includes a section of ready-cooked, cooked and smoked turkey meat. The endowment was created with the latest equipment from leading companies in Germany: Seidelmann, Maurice, Maja, Kolbe, Hardtmann, Frey, Bizerba, etc..
We are concerned about the birds welfare on each link of the chain of production: breeding and fattening, transport to the slaughterhouse and the actual process of slaughter.
Thus, in addition to vehicles which transports the food for turkeys, we bought specialized vehicles to transport turkeys from farms to slaughterhouses.
Our fleet consists of over 25 trucks that enable prompt supply of our partners.
